History & Milestones
EST. 2009
Off the Record was founded in 2009 at Lehigh University by students who wanted to create an a cappella group where everyone could feel welcome and inspired. Over the years, OTR has grown from a handful of singers into one of Lehigh’s most recognized performing groups.
We’ve marked our journey with countless performances — from singing at first-year orientation’s The Rally and annual events like Founder’s Day and Family Weekend, to representing Lehigh on larger stages. In 2024, we celebrated our 15th anniversary with a special alumni reunion concert that brought generations of Otters back together to sing as one.
Another highlight of our history is competing in the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA), where in 2025 we placed first at our Quarterfinal and second at our Semifinal, making it one of OTR’s most successful competitive years yet.
Through it all, Off the Record has stayed true to its founding spirit: making music that’s meaningful, building community, and keeping the Otter family strong.
